श्रम कानूनों में प्रचलित महत्वपूर्ण शब्दावली सरल शब्दों में

(इस शब्द-कोष की परिभाषाएँ सहज शब्दों में छात्रों के समझने के उद्येश्य से लिखी गयी है । कृपया शाब्दिक परिभाषा जानने के लिए मूल अधिनियम में उल्लेखित शब्दों को संदर्भित किया जाए ।)   1.    श्रम ( Labour) - श्रम वह मानसिक या शारीरिक प्रयत्न है जो अंशतः या पुर्णतः कार्य से प्राप्त होनेवाले सुख के अतिरिक्त, अन्य किसी आर्थिक उद्येश्य से किया जाता है । अर्थशास्त्र में श्रम के लिए मानवीय प्रयत्न, मानसिक एवं शारीरिक श्रम, आर्थिक लाभ तथा भौतिक या अभौतिक पदार्थों का निर्माण होना आवश्यक है । 2.   श्रम अर्थशास्त्र (Labour Economics) - श्रम अर्थशास्त्र वह विषय है जिसमे विभिन्न श्रम समस्याओं का सैद्धांतिक और व्यवहारिक रूपों में अध्ययन किया जाता है । 3.    सामाजिक विधान (Social Legislation) - वैसे विधान जिनका उद्येश समाज के उन समूहों की आर्थिक एवं सामाजिक स्थिति में सुधार लाना है , जो समाज में कमजोर स्थिति में है तथा जिन्हें उम्र , लिंग , शारीरिक दशाओं , मानसिक बाधाओं एवं आर्थिक या सामाजिक  कारणों के कारण स्वयं मानवोचित ढंग से जीवन-यापन करने में असमर्थ ह...
